On August 5, 2023, SLO4Home is hosting A Summer Soiree, An Evening of Fun and Fundraising at the Edna Ranch home of SLO4Home’s President and his wife, Dr. Vance and Ginny Rodgers. SLO4Home, Inc., is a non-profit organization assisting refugees from war-torn countries to resettle in the Central Coast community. SLO4Home is extending an invitation to the SLO Chamber of Commerce Community to attend their event: A Summer Soiree, An Evening of Fun and Fundraising. The Summer Soiree will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday August 5, 2023.
Since SLO4Home’s founding just 18 months ago, six families have resettled on the Central Coast with the assistance of SLO4Home. This includes two Afghan families, three Syrian families and one Ukrainian family. In total, 20 lives have been changed with the help of SLO4Home. More refugees are anticipated to arrive with SLO4Home’s support in the coming months.
The Summer Soiree will thank the many volunteers and donors for their support. Additionally, SLO4Home’s Summer Soiree will provide attendees and the refugees the opportunity to get to know each other. The families will share their moving stories about why they fled their homes to rebuild their lives on the Central Coast. SLO4Home hopes attendees will be motivated to support financially the 2023 object of raising $150,000, the balance of a $300,000 matching grant provided by Rick Stollmeyer of Inspired Flight.
