The San Luis Obispo Symphony performs their first concert of the New Year on Saturday, February 3, 2024. The concert begins at 7:30 PM at the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo. This concert will feature solo Trumpeter Andrew Balio performing Arutunian’s Trumpet Concerto.
Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 in C Minor will be performed side by side with the SLO Youth Symphony Concert Orchestra. These musicians, ranging from 7th – 12th grade, are advanced string, woodwind, brass, and percussion student musicians.
The concert will also feature “Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory”, a work dedicated to and inspired by the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Composed by Patrice Rushen, the Grammy-nominated R&B artist and producer, known for her 1980’s single, “Forget Me Nots”, will be in the audience for the performance.
