SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces is excited to announce the first round of their SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Awardees. Now in the third year, these awards are not only meant to celebrate employers who have adopted family-friendly practices and uplift those who are working towards creating a more family-friendly workplace, but to encourage others to join a growing field of businesses who understand the advantages of offering these benefits.

“In today’s dynamic business environment, family-friendly workplace practices can be more crucial than ever in achieving business success,” said Christina Lefevre Latner, with the SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Program. “That is why it is important to regularly review your benefits to ensure they meet the needs of your employees and help you stay competitive in your industry. Whether your goal is to attract the best talent, retain your experienced employees or maximize productivity and wellbeing, a family-friendly workplace has been proven to do all the above. Offering certain benefits can help employers really stand out.”

The first round of 2024 SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Awardees are all past award winners, illustrating that businesses see the benefit in the award designation and these practices. By award level, they are:

Platinum Level, “Trail Blazer”

Diamond Level, “Distinguished Champions”

Blue Diamond Level, “Change Makers”

Red Diamond Level, “Care Conquerors”

If your business hasn’t already, take the newly released 2024 SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Assessment. It takes about 15 minutes to complete and at the end you can opt to apply for a 2024 SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Award. Businesses who have won awards in years past are invited to renew. There is even a higher level to achieve this year– the new “Red” Diamond level, also known as “Care Conquerors!”  This new level celebrates organizations that offer employer sponsored childcare options, such as childcare stipends or subsidies.
