On the evening of June 1, 2024, The Foundation at Hearst Castle hosted “Twilight on the Terrace”, one of the Central Coast’s most elegant charitable events. The gardens and terraces of Hearst Castle overlooking the Neptune Pool were opened up to a sold out crowd of patrons and wine enthusiasts all dancing along to the sensational music of Brass Mash.

Located all around the terrace was a spectacular array of tables offered up the Central Coast’s wines, whiskies and craft beers while local food purveyors provided treats to the attendees. Many came dressed in 1920s period costumes.

Guests at Twilight on the Terrace were welcomed by the new Executive Director, Doug Jenzen.

A special highlight of the silent auction items were two portrait paintings of William Randolph Hearst and the Castle’s fabled architect, Julia Morgan created especially for the event by San Luis Obispo-based artist, Kevin Akers.

Two color illustrated art pieces. One is of a large man with a yellow hat and his dog, representing Randolph Hearst. The other in of a woman with glasses, and a red hat holding rolled large papers, representing Julio Morgan.
