In its century-long history, the Anderson Hotel has always represented the transition toward an economically vibrant future in San Luis Obispo. According to the SLO Tribune, the opening party for the hotel, a dinner-dance drawing 300 people “will forever remain in the memories of those who attended as one of the most enjoyable affairs in the social history of this city.”
Today, the building’s restoration, led by the Housing Authority of San Luis Obispo, is quickly approaching completion. We’re excited about this incredible investment in our downtown and bold action to house seniors and the unhoused in our community.
Join us for this exclusive opportunity to learn more about the ins and outs of what it takes to make a project like this possible and see behind the scenes in the final days before the project is complete. This event will begin with a presentation at the Council Chambers at City Hall, 990 Palm, followed by a walk down to the Anderson Hotel (two blocks), 965 Monterey St., for a tour of the facility and refreshments.
