Pacific Eye is seeking the community’s help in selecting worthy 501(c)(3) organizations to participate in their Pacific Eye Gives Back Challenge this fall. The challenge is designed to highlight the outstanding organizations that make positive change visible on the Central Coast. Community members and local non-profit representatives can nominate their charity of choice one of two ways before the submission deadline on Sept. 9:
- First, nominations are being accepted through Pacific Eye’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/PacEyeMD. Simply click on the nomination tab and submit your favorite Central Coast non-profit organization.
- Or, those interested can download a nomination form and email it to [email protected] by Sept. 9.
Pacific Eye’s team of physicians will review the nominations and select 10 organizations to move on to the voting round. Beginning in October, the general public can vote for their favorite non-profit once each day through Thanksgiving Day via Pacific Eye’s Facebook page. The organizations with the most votes will receive donations totaling $10,000 awarded in December.
For more information, visit Pacific Eye’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/PacEyeMD or email Amie DuMong ([email protected]). This is the 3rd year Pacific Eye is organizing the contest. Last year, the Pacific Eye Gives Back Challenge awarded $10,000 in total between three local organizations: Project Surf Camp, the Food Bank of San Luis Obispo County and the Boys and Girls Club of North SLO County. The community voted more than 9,400 times last fall.
