Amber Graziano, a former second-grade teacher and mother of two, is a passionate advocate for sobriety and a dedicated runner devoted to transforming lives through community and fitness. She is proud to announce the official launch of her Nonprofit, Recovery Road Runners, Inc., which now boasts over 2,500 members worldwide. What began as a Facebook group in 2021 has grown into a global movement committed to raising awareness and funds for drug and alcohol addiction recovery and prevention, with a special focus on supporting families in recovery and those affected by addiction.

Graziano is celebrating 4 years sober by leaving the classroom to fully commit to helping Recovery Road Runners take its next steps, and she’s eager to connect with members in the SLO community. She is actively seeking sponsors, partners and donations to propel this vital organization forward. With your support, Recovery Road Runners can expand its reach, providing critical resources and community support to those in need. The nonprofit’s mission is clear: to save lives, inspire change and offer hope to families struggling with the impacts of addiction. Amber is passionate about equipping children with the tools and strategies they need to grow up substance-free, championing sobriety and embracing the benefits of exercise as part of a healthy, active lifestyle.

In a significant effort to raise funds and awareness, Amber Graziano and her partner, Vinny Wood, educator at Diablo Canyon Power Plant, are preparing to participate in the NorCal Backyard Ultra in Folsom, CA, on November 8-9, 2024. This grueling “last man standing” race is not only a personal challenge for Amber but also a powerful platform to draw attention to the cause she holds dear. Every mile will be dedicated to raising money for Recovery Road Runners, with the ultimate goal of making a tangible difference in the lives of those battling addiction.

“Running has been a transformative part of my recovery journey, and through Recovery Road Runners, I want to give others the same opportunity to find strength, community and hope,” Amber says. “This race is more than just a physical challenge—it’s a statement of commitment to those who need our help the most.”
