inc5000 433The 2014 Inc. 5000 list has been released and once again San Luis Obispo County based businesses represent throughout.

The first SLO County business on this year’s list is Hathway, coming in at 601. They were followed by list veterans such as MINDBODY, making its seventh consecutive appearance, IQMS with its fourth, and Meathead Movers with its third consecutive. TekTegrity is joining the ranks of the continually growing as they made the list for the second year in a row.

Launched by Inc. Magazine in 1982 as the Inc. 500, the annual list recognizes the fastest-growing privately-owned businesses in the U.S. In 2007, that list was expanded to 5,000 businesses with a special ranking of the top 10 percent, or 500. The ranking is based on percentage of revenue growth over a three-year period.

Recording revenue just over $470,000 in 2010, Hathway, a mobile innovation agency, reported $4.2 million in 2013, coming in with 791 percent growth over the three years sampled. Recently celebrating their fifth year, the San Luis Obispo based company provides strategy, design and engineering services to businesses around the world.

“I am proud of my team at Hathway but also have great respect for the other successful businesses in our area,” CEO Jesse Dundon said. “SLO is a great place to do business and an awesome area for companies who want to think outside the box. I am grateful for my customers and the support of the community.”

The ever-expanding MINDBODY continues its placement on the list for the seventh consecutive year. With a three year growth of 295 percent and ranking at 1,445, the business management software company has never placed out of the top third of the list.

“What’s most gratifying to me is that the MINDBODY Team has made the Inc. 5000 list seven consecutive years, reflecting our commitment to steady growth around the world year after year after year,” said Rick Stollmeyer, MINDBODY co-founder and CEO. “It’s a testament to the dedication and focus of our incredible team, most of whom live and work right here in beautiful SLO County”

Local IT managed service provider TekTegrity continues to outpace companies twice their size. Adding 26 jobs over the last three years and seeing a 149 percent growth in revenue, brought the Inc. 5,000 alum a 2,536 ranking.

“We love being a part of this community and are honored to be ranked on the Inc. 5000 for the second year in a row,” TekTegrity CEO Russ Levanway said. “We work in an industry with incredibly rapid change and client solutions that evolve quickly. Our growth has enabled us to continue to innovate and hire skilled staff, in order to fulfill our goal of enhancing our client’s productivity.”

Meathead Movers has doubled the number of employees and more than doubled its revenue over the past three years as they continue to move into new markets and assess the feasibility of further expansion. All this has resulted in a 133 percent growth and a 2,781 ranking for San Luis Obispo-based company.

“Being on this list doesn’t change anything for us, however, I think it does highlight that we’re on the right path,” said Aaron Steed, Meathead Movers president and CEO. “After 17 years, we’re still hungry and enjoying seeking to improve our interactions with our employees, our customers and communities in Central and Southern California. We believe in what we’re doing and more importantly, why we’re doing it. We have become very good at developing leaders, offering premium quality moving services and having people who care about the communities they serve.”

Paso Robles-based IQMS made the list for the fourth consecutive year, attributing its success to steady organic growth. Nearly doubling its revenue from $16.6 million to more than $32 million over the three years sampled, the software company added 96 jobs.

“This is IQMS’ fourth consecutive placement on the Inc. 500|5000 list and let me tell you, it never gets old,” said Randy Flamm, president of IQMS. “To rank among some of the most innovative companies in the country is quite an honor and we look forward to appearing on the list for many years to come. I also want to congratulate the other remarkable local businesses that qualified for the Inc. list. We are proud to work and thrive beside you in our talented county.”
