One Cool Earth’s, Play Grove is a unique outdoor program designed to help children ages three to five years old explore, learn and grow through hands-on interaction with nature. At the Play Grove, children are encouraged to immerse themselves in the natural world, fostering curiosity, creativity and a deep connection to the environment.
Over the past month, children at Play Grove have been busy discovering new areas of the site, giving names to their favorite spots like “Coyote Cave,” “Sandy Creek,” and “Deer Trails,” where they engage in imaginative play and outdoor learning. The children have also been getting their hands dirty by planting seeds, harvesting squash and watching tomatoes grow in their vibrant garden. They recently introduced a worm bin, where the children helped set it up and learned how worms contribute to soil health and the overall garden ecosystem.
One of the highlights this past month was Family Pizza Night, where they celebrated the fruits of their garden labor with fresh, garden-to-table pizzas. It was a great opportunity for families to come together, share a meal and build a sense of community.
