Habitat for Humanity San Luis Obispo County (Habitat SLO) is thrilled to share new dates and locations for its exciting “Year of Beer” fundraiser series, where attendees can raise a glass, and raise some funds for its home preservation/aging in place, new home construction and neighborhood revitalization programs.
“We are delighted to continue ‘Year of Beer,’ where local breweries and establishments partner with us to raise funds for homeownership,” said Nicholas Rasmussen, CEO. “A portion of sales at each event will be donated to Habitat SLO at no additional cost to you, plus you’ll receive a ReStore token so that you can earn special discounts at our Paso and San Luis Obispo ReStore locations.” Funds raised go to support Habitat for Humanity’s mission of building homes, communities and hope.
In August, The Brightside Pizza and Beer in Los Osos hosted Habitat SLO each Tuesday and donated $1,000 to Habitat SLO. Owners JJ and Ashlee invited the Habitat SLO staff to create a Habitat SLO pizza pie, and they also partnered with local brewmaster Jeremy Fleming, who crafted a Pilsner dubbed Builder’s Brewski, especially for the occasion. They will host again each Tuesday in August 2025.
Oak & Otter Brewery in SLO will kick off the new year on January 23 and Wild Fields Brew House will host on February 13. Other confirmed hosts are Ancient Owl, Humdingers Brewer and Hofbrau der Albatross – Morro Bay.
“Don’t miss out on the chance to be a part of this fun initiative,” said Dawn Smith, Director of Development. “With the generous support of our partners and event attendees, we can continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local families by providing them with safe, affordable housing as well as help senior citizens safely age in place. IF you are interested in hosting a Year of Beer event, please contact me at [email protected] or 303-968-7049.”
