SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces is thrilled to announce the final round of 2024 SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Awardees. Now in its third year, this program is not only meant to celebrate those employers who have adopted family-friendly practices, but to uplift those who are working towards creating a more family-friendly workplace environment.
The 2025 SLO County Family-Friendly Workplaces Assessment and Award Application is now open and is the first opportunity to apply for a new 2025 Award. The assessment is free and will take about 15 minutes to complete.
This year, joining the two highest award levels, Blue Diamond and Red Diamond, a new distinct award category has been added, the Orange Diamond level, also known as “Hospitality Heroes.” This new level celebrates businesses in the hospitality industry, such as restaurants, wineries, lodging, travel and entertainment, that actively support their employees with family responsibilities by offering benefits that allow them to balance work and family life.
“We hope this award will help advance family-friendly practices in the hospitality industry which can help hotel operators, restaurateurs and others more easily draw and retain staff,” said Christina Lefevre Latner, Workforce Development Manager at the SLO Chamber of Commerce. “Key aspects of a family-friendly hospitality workplace include flexible and predictable scheduling, breastfeeding accommodation, dependent care flex spending accounts (DCFSA’s), and one hundred percent employer-sponsored health insurance.”
