The City of San Luis Obispo Active Transportation Program, responsible for managing bicycle and pedestrian programs, is launching a new educational campaign called Roll & Stroll. This initiative aims to promote safety for community members through education and shared resources. Roll & Stroll seeks to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to bike and walk safely.

“This educational resource provides community members with the confidence to walk, bike, and roll safely, fostering a healthy community, reducing traffic congestion and promoting a culture of sustainable mobility for future generations,” said Adam Fukushima, Active Transportation Manager for the City of San Luis Obispo. “We will continue to add more resources as they become available, making Roll & Stroll the City’s bike and pedestrian information hub.”

The Roll & Stroll online resource hub is for people of all ages and ability levels and includes essential safety information, instructional videos, and guidance on navigating new facilities, as well as links to in-person education opportunities.

By increasing awareness and education, Roll & Stroll aims to foster mutual respect among all road users, reduce pedestrian and bicycle collisions, and promote healthier, more active lifestyles within the City of SLO. The effort further supports the City’s Vision Zero Program to eliminate all traffic-related fatalities and severe injuries in the City.
