It’s been a big month for the San Luis Obispo Children’s Museum! The Museum recently hosted its first-ever board reunion, welcoming back founders dating back to the eighties to see how the organization has grown and prospered. Congressman Salud Carbajal also joined in the celebration, touring the facility, trying out the upcoming mixed-reality exhibit and presenting a certificate of commendation recognizing 35 years of service to the San Luis Obispo community.

Next up, the Children’s Museum is thrilled to announce its annual adults-only fundraiser, “Wicked!”, taking place on Friday, October 10. All proceeds from the event will support exhibits, programs and events that serve tens of thousands of Central Coast children and their families.

Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite character from the Wicked & Wizard of Oz movies, play games, explore exhibits, dance at the silent disco, enjoy dinner executed by Café Roma and bid on unique live auction items, all in a playful, themed environment. Tireless champion of the Children’s Museum, Kelli Briggs, will be honored for her many years of service to the organization.

The Children’s Museum is deeply grateful to all of its event sponsors, particularly our lead sponsors: Adventist Health Sierra Vista, Monterey Place, SESLOC Credit Union and Cameron & Moresco CPAs. Special thanks to Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, Opolo Vineyards, American Riviera Bank, Pismo Beach Veterinary Clinic, Atascadero Hills Dental, Radiology Associates, Khuba International, Kitchell, Café Roma, Central Coast Silent Disco, MakeSEA, Lola Red Design, Jennifer Dawson Real Estate, City Wide Facility Solutions and Certified Travel Media.

The adventure begins at 6 p.m. at the Museum, 1010 Nipomo Street in Downtown SLO. Only a handful of tickets remain, and the cost is $150 per person. For more information and to purchase tickets call (805) 545-5874 or visit slocm.org/wicked.
