San Luis Obispo County high school seniors are invited to come onto the SLO Campus and get a taste of college life during the college’s first-ever Promise Day, set for Friday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. High school seniors will learn about different student services and programs available, and be provided information on the Promise Scholarship application process, which opens on Jan. 1, 2015.
On Oct. 1, Cuesta College announced that it will further remove financial barriers for current and future Promise Scholarship recipients by extending the scholarship, which currently pays all student fees for the fall semester, to include all student fees for the spring semester as well.
“The Promise Day is just for our local high school seniors, including public, private and home-schooled, to visit Cuesta with their peers and see what we are all about,” said event organizer and Advancement Support Coordinator Jessica Strano. “Our goal is to create an actual campus experience for them, especially for those who have never been on a college campus before.”
Students will have an opportunity to meet with faculty, admissions and financial aid representatives, and current students. Lunch, music and prizes will be included. For more information or to RSVP, contact your local high school, or the Cuesta College Advancement Office at (805) 546-3279.
