Happy Hüt Sanctüary of Nipomo has received a $3,350 grant on January 15, 2026, from Los Angeles philanthropic nonprofit Musack, to launch a guitar program for children in Uganda. Musack’s mission is to give kids and teens a voice through music, by supplying guitars, drums, pianos and support to teachers.
The grant will fund the purchase of musical instruments and related supplies for the 65 children of the Happy Hüt Sanctüary School in Uganda. The acquisition includes acoustic guitars for children and teachers, plus an electric guitar and bass, in order to expand the school’s music program for its resident students. This donation is in addition to the previous year’s grant, which created the music program that supplied pianos for the children and teachers.
Music is such an uplifting class for those who were formerly orphaned and raised in extreme poverty. The program is designed to provide creative expression, confidence-building and emotional support through music education.
“Music has the power to bring joy and create connection,” said Nixie Davidsohn, President and Founder of Happy Hüt Sanctüary. “This guitar class will give the children an opportunity to express themselves, build confidence and experience the happiness that comes from learning and creating together. My sincere thanks goes out to Musack for making this program possible, and for investing in the power of music to uplift and inspire children.”
Happy Hüt Sanctüary is a Nipomo-based nonprofit organization and a member of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce. Its mission is to support vulnerable children in Uganda, through permanent shelter, food, education, creative arts and sustainable programs that nurture long-term growth and stability.
