This Earth Month, The Bunker SLO will host a series of art-driven, community events centered on an UPcycled art exhibit – inviting residents to rethink waste, reuse materials, and engage in local climate action through creativity. The Earth Month series is co-presented with SLO Climate Coalition and begins April 3 with an Art After Dark opening.
The April exhibit, the UPcycle Art Show, features work created from reclaimed and repurposed materials, highlighting the role of reuse and creativity in reducing waste and building a more sustainable community.
“The Bunker has built something really special here – a space where people feel welcome, connected, and inspired,” said Laura Albers, executive director of SLO Climate Coalition. “And that’s what this work is about. If we’re going to create a healthier, more resilient future, it starts with community.”
The events also serve as a lead-in to SLO EarthFest, taking place April 18 at Santa Rosa Park, the region’s signature Earth Day celebration focused on community, climate solutions, and local action. Community members are invited to carry the momentum from these events into EarthFest and be part of a growing, local movement for a more resilient future.
