The Surfing for Hope Foundation is thrilled to announce the kickoff of its 2026 Pure Stoke Youth Program. The season’s inaugural surf camp will take place Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., just south of the Pismo Beach Pier.
The Pure Stoke Youth Program provides a safe, supportive, and fun environment for children and families navigating the challenges of a cancer diagnosis or other modern-day struggles. By utilizing the healing energy of the ocean, the program offers a joyful outlet for young people to connect with peers facing similar journeys.
“The Pure Stoke Youth Program provides a safe, fun environment, utilizing the healing energy of the beach and ocean in which these young victims can find an outlet to help them deal with the stress of a family member with cancer or other modern-day struggles,” said Bob Voglin, Surfing for Hope Co-Founder and cancer survivor. “Our goal is to create a space where these kids can just be kids again. Between the surf lessons and the time spent on the sand, it’s about building resilience and community through the power of the water.”
Event Highlights:
- Professional Instruction: Local surf instructors and supportive counselors provide hands-on lessons in a welcoming, encouraging environment.
- Full Equipment Provided: Surfing for Hope supplies all necessary gear, including surfboards and wetsuits.
- Community Connection: The camp fosters a space where families can share experiences and find mutual support.
