Cal Poly Campus Health and Wellbeing, in partnership with The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), will host the annual Out of the Darkness Walk on Saturday, May 16. This free community event features a 1.5-mile walk around campus.
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention has local chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico and is a leader in the fight against suicide. AFSP’s Out of the Darkness Walks serve as the organization’s signature fundraising series, designed to engage communities in suicide prevention. Through this event, AFSP seeks to raise $30,000 locally to fund research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.
