Presented by the SLO Climate Coalition and the City of SLO, on July 22, the community has an opportunity to share their thoughts, ideas and concerns about the next steps the City can take to reach its climate action goals. For decades, San Luis Obispo community members have worked to protect natural lands, clean air and water, and public health, making climate action a top priority. Their efforts helped lead to the City’s Climate Action Plan for Community Recovery, adopted in 2020, which aims for carbon neutrality by 2035. With strong community support, the City has made real progress through greenbelt conservation, cleaning up our City’s electricity supply, building bike lanes, rolling out organic waste composting, and more.
