CHAMBER Series: Opening Night
The 45th Festival starts off where it began: with Mozart. Each of the featured pieces in this concert demonstrates the influence of Bach on the composers. Tchaikovsky was first exposed to Bach’s work at the age of 21 through his harmony teacher and would frequently play Bach fugues in his own home. • MOZART- Clarinet Quintet in A major, K. 581 • HINDEMITH – Clarinet Quintet, op. 30 • TCHAIKOVSKY – String Quartet No. 2 in F major, op. 22
