January 16: Melody Klemin

Singer/songwriter Melody Klemin has been sharing her music with local fans for over ten years, creating an original blend of contemporary folk and Americana, with several surprises in between! When asked to describe Mel’s music, fans and promoters alike have compared her with the acoustic stylings of Joan Osborne, Patty Griffin and the Dixie Chicks.

A frequent performer at many “Slo-cal” small bars and coffee houses in downtown San Luis Obispo, Mel and her guitar can be seen at Luis Wine Bar, the trendy Kreuzberg coffee house and the popular Linnaea’s Café. She’s even been known to play an occasional tribute set or try out her newest material at Steve Key’s Songwriters at Play Showcase.

Melody released her debut album in February 2014 which was recorded at Damon Castillo’s San Luis Obispo studio.
