SLO Box Art is defined as “temporary public art” which provides for the opportunity to “refresh” periodically with new public art approximately every 5 years. In response, the City will be working this spring/summer 2016 on refreshing the original box art collection. The City is currently soliciting proposals to repaint 17 of the first-phase of utility boxes, in addition to 4 second-phase utility boxes that have recently received box modifications. The 2016 Box Art Repainting Project will include 21 box at locations.
