Head Brewer Brendan Gough and the team at Central Coast Brewing Company bring home a gold medal for Lucky Day IPA in the Strong Pale Ale category at World Beer Cup – the most prestigious beer competition in the world.

The 2016 World Beer Cup, held at the Philadelphia Convention Center on May 6, was the end-cap of a week-long Craft Brewers Conference held in the “City of Brotherly Love.” The American Strong Pale Ale category was one of the most competitive categories in the competition, boasting 118 entries from breweries all over the world.

The win comes on the heels of another big win for Central Coast Brewing at the Great American Beer Festival for their Monterey Street Pale Ale last September.  Head Brewer Brendan Gough, Brewhouse Manager Aaron Swink and the brewing team at CCB are truly making world-class beers right here on the Central Coast. Brewery owner, George Peterson, added, “The win is humbling considering how many great beers are being crafted by breweries all over the world.”  The timing for CCB couldn’t be better as they have begun construction of a new production brewery, tasting room and restaurant on South Higuera in San Luis Obispo.
