A family of Central Coast restaurants, including Novo and Luna Red , is granting wishes for children in need this holiday season. The restaurants participated in The Family Care Network’s “Sponsor a Child for the Holidays” gift drive. Staffers pitched in on gifts of all kinds and fulfilled a total of 39 wishes.
Restaurateurs, Robin and Shanny Covey, have been community supporters of the Family Care Network for more than 20 years. They first became familiar with the organization when they began their own journey of adoption. Ever since, they have contributed to fundraising events that raise money and awareness of the agency’s important work.
“When we wanted to provide a home for [a teenage boy] in foster care within the FCNI system, in order for us to take him in, we had to become foster parents under the supervision of FCNI. [From this experience], we learned how conscientiously FCNI operates for the benefit of children in our community. FCNI helps many challenged and underprivileged kids and families who need a helping hand of support even if just for a little while.
