Artist Statement: In Yael’s own words, “I am intrigued by the complexity of the light and shapes reflected by the water’s surface, as well as by what can be seen when light penetrates the surface, revealing the forms, colors and textures that exists in the space below.

When out with my camera, I seek inspiration from the surrounding environment. I look for combinations of texture, color, shape and composition that may work as foundations for finished photographs.

Every photograph is from a single exposure; there are no combined images or software filters. i work with selective cropping as well as manipulations of color, saturation and contrast.
I live in Los Osos. like many others, i was drawn to the beauty of the central coast, and am fortunate to call it my home.”
