United Way works to improve the lives of children, seniors, families and individuals in our local community by focusing on education, income and health – the building blocks for a good life. Flavor of SLO was created in 2009 by a Cal Poly student as a senior project to stimulate interest in local restaurants, wineries and breweries. It continues this year as a project taken on by a team of Cal Poly students from varying degrees of study. This event serves to showcase some of San Luis Obispo County’s best food, wine and beer, while benefitting a nonprofit which has been serving our community for over 50 years.
