Dave Becker Sextet featuring trombonist Kevin Hicks

The San Luis Obispo County Jazz Federation is excited to present the Dave Becker Sextet featuring acclaimed L.A. trombonist Kevin Hicks on Saturday night July 8 at the Unity Concert Hall (1130 Orcutt Rd. /SLO).
The Sextet, with the three-man front line (Becker, saxes, Bob Bennett, trumpet and Hicks on trombone), will play straight-ahead jazz reminiscent of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. The stellar rhythm section of Marshall Otwell, piano, Darrell Voss, drums and Dylan Johnson, bass round out the group.

The concert starts at 7:30pm with the doors opening at 7:00pm. Tickets are $20 for General admission, $15 for Jazz Fed members and $10 for students; advance tickets can be purchased at BooBoos Records/SLO and through BrownPaperTickets.com.
