The Foundation for the Performing Arts Center welcomes five new members to its board. The following new members began their terms on July 1 with the start of the 2018 Fiscal Year: Morgen Houlis, Bob Kitamura, Geri LaChance, Cathy Luckett and Erin Steed.


Morgen Houlis

Morgen Houlis

Morgen Houlis of Glenn Burdette has working on the board’s finance and investment committee for several years and will take over as Treasurer.


Bob Kitamura

Bob Kitamura

Bob Kitamura brings with him a unique knowledge of the PAC’s location, as the former university architect and executive director of facilities planning and capital projects at Cal Poly from 1993 to 2011.


Geri LaChance

Geri LaChance

Geri LaChance is the president and chief executive officer of SESLOC, she is the immediate past chair of the YMCA, and is a member of the Chamber and Leadership SLO boards. Arriving in SLO just 5 years ago, LaChance has been a generous champion of the PAC.


Cathy Luckett

Cathy Luckett

Cathy Luckett is a retired speech-language pathologist who has served on the boards of the San Luis Obispo Symphony and the PCPA Foundation in Santa Maria.


Erin Steed

Erin Steed

Erin Steed is the chief strategy officer at Meathead Movers and serves on the board for French Hospital. Steed will serve as co-chair for the Foundation’s biennial fundraiser this September.


Additionally, Trudie Safreno will take over as president, following John Rolph’s successful 2 years as president.

“It has been an honor to serve as president during such an exciting time for the Foundation, including the successful conclusion of the Encore Campaign and the recruitment of Executive Director Leann Standish,” said Rolph. “I know that Trudie will be an amazing president and that the Foundation’s work is ever more important in securing the vibrant performing arts in our community.”

“I am so grateful to John and his outstanding leadership,” said Standish. “He has been an important mentor helping me get my feet on the ground here on the Central Coast.”

Next up for the Foundation’s board is the completion of a new strategic plan, supported by the team at Collaboration Consulting.
