The Great American Melodrama will audition young local actors for this year’s production of A Christmas Carol. Melodrama Artistic Director Dan Schultz said, “A Christmas Carol is a highlight of our Holiday Extravaganza and a special part of many families’ holiday celebrations.
We look forward to showcasing young members of our community alongside our talented
professional actors.”
Actors should come prepared to recite a memorized rhyme or monologue and to sing a verse from their favorite
Christmas carol or other song. An accompanist will not be provided; songs may be sung a capella. Audition pieces should not exceed a total of 2 minutes. Rehearsals begin October 24, and the show runs from November 16 through December 31, 2017. All positions are paid.
The Melodrama is seeking 8 actors to play four roles:
Tiny Tim: a small boy aged 5-7
Belinda: a girl aged 6-12
Peter: a boy aged 10-17
Martha: a girl aged 12-17
