The hiring of drafters Seth McIver and Tina Reyes marks a continued period of growth for the company’s engineering team, which now comprises three licensed professional engineers, two electrical engineers, four electrical designers, six CAD drafters and support staff, who in total have more than 300 years of engineering and design experience.

CAD software was designed to make a variety of design tasks more efficient, allowing drafters to create technical drawings with computers instead of the old technology – pencils, rulers and paper. With CAD software, they can create 3-D and 2- D models that offer more details, and CAD makes it easier to quickly edit and revise.

Having worked in the communications industry for 18 years – 14 with light electrical design – McIver has designed fiber-optic and wireless communications infrastructure throughout California for more than a decade.

McIver said he looks forward to joining Thoma’s close-knit company.

“The positive family environment, with room to grow as an employee and a company, is what excited me most about Thoma Electric,” McIver said.

For past employers, Reyes was not only technically savvy, but got to use her creative side by creating holiday greeting cards and the logo for a local water district in King County, WA.

Having moved to California from Seattle in April, she said she’s excited to bring her 12 years of experience to an intelligent team that made it easy to adjust to a new hometown.

“Being new to the company and new to the area, Thoma made me feel very welcomed and made this change an amazing one,” Reyes said.
