The California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo (Cal Poly) has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Master Plan 2035 (Project). The analysis in the Draft EIR concluded that the Project will result in significant environmental impacts that can be mitigated to a level of insignificance to biological resources, aesthetic resources, geology and soils, hydrology and water quality, traffic and circulation (specific intersections), public services and recreation, utility and service systems, and water supply. The analysis in the EIR concluded that the Project will result in unavoidable significant impacts to aesthetic resources (Slack and Grand Residential Neighborhood), agricultural resources, air quality, cultural resources, noise, and traffic and circulation (cumulative).

A public meeting to hear comments on the Draft EIR will be held on December 6, 2017, at 6:00 PM. This meeting will take place on the Cal Poly campus, in Chumash Auditorium in the Julian A. McPhee University Union (Building 65, Room 204).
