After working with the State Water Board on behalf of the Templeton Community Services District (TCSD), Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham (R-San Luis Obispo) has helped to ensure TCSD received the funding loan necessary to start construction on a critical water project, also known as the Upper Salinas River Basin Conjunctive Use Project.
“This is fantastic news for the community,” said Assemblyman Cunningham. “This project will help increase our supply and make us even more water independent on the Central Coast. My congratulations go to the TCSD Board and staff, who worked hard along with our office to make this a reality.”
“We would like to thank Assemblyman Jordan Cunningham for taking the initiative to work with the State Water Resources Control Board on our behalf. His involvement hurried the CWSRF loan funding process along, and we are looking forward to getting our loan documents in early December when we will be able to put this critical project out for construction,” said Jeff Briltz, TCSD general manager.
The project will increase water supply by an additional 242 acre-feet per year (AFY), according to TCSD documents.
