Employment law firm LightGabler is presenting a free employment law seminar, “Does Absence Really Make the Heart Grow Fonder? Leaves-of-Absence Trends and Issues.” The seminar will be held Wednesday, June 27 in San Luis Obispo.

California provides employees with more leaves-of-absence options than any other state. To ensure the utmost productivity in the workplace and avoid costly litigation, employers must be aware of the leaves available to employees and the employee obligations employers can enforce.

In this informative seminar for employers, supervisors and human resource professionals, employment law attorneys Jonathan Fraser Light and Susan S. Waag will discuss over 30 scenarios involving employee leaves of absence, drawn from real life business experiences with California employers. Some of the topics covered include effective ways to deal with time off abuse, administration of benefits during leaves, how long an employer must hold open a position and documentation necessary to support the actions taken by the employer.

The seminar will be held at Embassy Suites Hotel (333 Madonna Road, San Luis Obispo) from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. A continental breakfast will be served.

Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. Attendance is limited to no more than three people per company and can be made by going to http://www.lightgablerlaw.com and clicking on “Seminars.” For questions, call 805-248-7089.
