On Tuesday, October 8, 2018, the AIA Central Coast Chapter will host “How Do Cities Grow Well?”, a panel discussion on design and planning for delightful, sustainable cities. The event will run from 6 – 8 p.m. at the community room of SESLOC Federal Credit Union, 3807 Broad Street in San Luis Obispo. It is free and open to the public.
The event will include presentations by three panelists and moderated questions and answers, including questions from the audience. The presentation will be followed by a light reception for open discussion and connection.
The distinguished panel of presenters consists of Christine Theodoropoulos, AIA, Dean, Cal Poly College of Architecture and Environmental Design; Chuck Crotser, AIA, Charles Crotser Architecture; San Luis Obispo Downtown Concept Plan Team Member, and Greg Wynn, AIA, Greg Wynn, AIA Architect; Former Architectural Review Commission Chair.
The moderator will be San Luis Obispo City Councilmember Andy Pease, AIA, LEED AP, who is also Principal at In Balance Green Consulting. Says Pease, “We know that planning and design impact our quality of life, the environment, our economy and even our health. This panel is an opportunity to talk about architecture and city planning and look at ideas that could work, or not work, for our city and our region.”
