Businesses in South County are encouraged to participate in the “Holiday Business Showcase” decorating contest sponsored by the South County Chambers of Commerce.
Businesses are encouraged to express their version of “holiday spirit.” Contestants can decorate their front window display or building and can incorporate the products and services they offer in a family-friendly way.
The goal of the contest is to highlight South County businesses and bring customers to their stores as they view decorations before voting online for their favorites.
The public will have their first opportunity to view these creations beginning November 16, and online voting will be available November 16 through December 2 at the South County Chambers Facebook page or the Nipomo Chamber Facebook page.
Patrons can visit participating businesses and vote online for their favorite once per day. Employees, friends and family may also vote and are encouraged to share the contest on social media.
The Five Cities business winner will be announced Wednesday, December 5, at the Holiday Fest at the Outlets in Pismo Beach. The Nipomo business winner will be announced on Sunday, December 2, at the Olde Towne Nipomo Family Christmas event. The winning business will receive a cash prize of $150, a first-place poster and bragging rights. The announcements will be made just prior to the tree lighting ceremony.
This contest is sponsored by the South County Chambers of Commerce to promote businesses in South County and is free to Chamber members. Businesses who are not Chamber members can participate for $25.
