Vegetable Butcher restaurant is preparing to open its doors on Thanksgiving Day to prepare and serve the Northern and Southern California’s recently displaced fire Evacuees.
Chef-Owner Becky Windels and her staff are volunteering all of their efforts working feverishly on organizing a Family-Style Thanksgiving Dinner for evacuees taking refuge here in SLO County and surrounding communities.
Volunteers and donations for the dinner event are pouring in from local wineries, craft breweries, floral growers, farmers and vendors. 100% of all food and beverages donated will be prepared and served.
More than 149,000 people throughout the Golden State have evacuated as a result of the fires. The restaurant is planning to prepare and provide 100-150+ Farmers’-Market-Forward Thanksgiving meals for displaced families.
If you or someone you know is a fire evacuee and is interested in participating in the dinner, please contact [email protected] with the subject line “Evacuee reservation” to reserve your space.
Thanksgiving Dinner will take place Thursday, Nov. 22 from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. at 712 Marsh St. in San Luis Obispo, CA.
