Precision Physical Therapy and Wellness will celebrate the Grand Opening of its Clinic in San Luis Obispo. The community is invited to the Ribbon Cutting at 4:30pm with the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce and Reception with Open House from 5:00pm to 7:30pm, Thursday, November 21 at 211 Tank Farm Road, Suite A, 93401 (across from Farm Supply).
Precision Physical Therapy is owned by Dr. Dave Svetich and Dr. Kristen Carless, both Doctors of Physical Therapy and Board Certified Specialists in Orthopedics. Svetich and Carless, both Cal Poly graduates, have been practicing physical therapy for a combined 37 years, with 28 of those years in San Luis Obispo County.

The plan to start their own practice was borne out of the realization that San Luis Obispo is woefully underserved when it comes to physical therapy access. According to Carless, “It’s not uncommon for patients to have three week waits to get an appointment for therapy. Dave [Svetich] and I are determined to change that. That’s why Precision Physical Therapy had a 48 Hour Appointment Guarantee.” Patients will be offered an appointment within 48 hours of their first call. “We’ve had some patients have been quite shocked to find out that they can be evaluated by a therapist the same day they call,” said Svetich, “when you’re hurting, the last thing you want to hear is that it will be a three week wait.”

The 4,000-square-foot clinic will be used to provide one-on-one physical therapy treatment, specialized twice-weekly PWR Moves! (Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery) exercise classes, and educational seminars on therapy innovations for both patients and physical therapy professionals. “We hope to host many community health and wellness events in our space and want to expand on our already existing ties to the community,” said Carless. The Grand Opening event will support non-profits like Cal Poly Tennis, Cal Poly Rugby and Central Coast Parkinson Association with Silent Auctions. Precision is also partnering with local health related businesses like Tank Farm Road neighbor, Kennedy Club Fitness, and with Boost Nutrition, which has recently opened near Cal Poly.
Besides Svetich and Carless, Precision will be staffed by Dr. Kate MacVicar, Doctor of Physical Therapy; with support from Physical Therapy Aides: Miranda Lykens, Taylor Shoemaker and Julianna Ruotolo; and administrative support from Kameron Ramirez and Erin Crotts. “Given a steady patient growth rate, we look forward to hiring additional physical therapists to help keep up with demand and maintain our 48 Hour Appointment Guarantee,” said Svetich.
