Earlier this month, the San Luis Obispo Blues Baseball Organization announced its upcoming 2020 schedule, featuring 48 total games, 34 home contests at Sinsheimer Stadium, 14 road games and a plethora of high-caliber opponents throughout.
Like every year, the Blues will face some of the most talented teams in the country in 2020. The Blues’ opponents include seven CCL teams; featuring nine games against the 2019 California Collegiate League and State Champions (Santa Barbara Foresters). The 2020 campaign will also include a couple of intriguing three game sets. The first is against new CCL member, the Lincoln Potters June 12-14 on the road. The second features 50-year rival and northern California power house, the Humboldt Crabs at home Jun 26-28 at home.
“Every few years, the calendar seems to fall just right for us,” said Blues General Manager Adam Stowe. “Our scheduling has worked out well, the new coaching staff has done a phenomenal job of recruiting and our local business partners are eagerly jumping back on board. At this point, everything seems to indicate a great 2020 season.”
The Blues open the year with a ten-game home stand featuring an Opening Weekend series with the Santa Maria Packers, May 22-25, a second weekend set against the California Expos, May 29 – May 31, and wrapping up the homestand with the San Francisco Seals June 5-7. The lone ‘non- conference’ contest is a road series the Lincoln Potters, June 12-14.
The Blues open league play on the road, June 16, at the Conejo Oaks. The Blues will host their first CCL game at home the following day against the Santa Barbara Foresters. The Blues will also close the season against the Foresters with a two game series on July 28 & 29.
In addition, the 2020 season will include many of the time-honored Blues’ promotional events. This year, they will include: three post-game fireworks shows (June 5, July 3, July 24), seven theme nights, two youth camps, a home run derby fundraiser, and a free team photo day.
