Rod & Hammer’s SLO Stills small-batch bottle shop and tasting room is moving in to stay at The Carrisa in Downtown, San Luis Obispo. The historic Higuera Street restaurant is transforming local outdoor dining with educational craft whiskey tastings, expanded al fresco seating and an entirely fresh new menu.
“Dining at The Carrisa feels like stepping into a California vacation,” said co-founder Rodney Cegelski. “We’ve crafted a fun, intimate experience that gives our community the chance to safely enjoy the company of friends and family.”
Equipped with heated outdoor seating at both the front and back of the house, guests can expect plush teak couches, fire pits and warm market lights spaced over a 2200 square feet deck with views overlooking the San Luis Obispo Creek and historic Mission de Tolosa.
A new Creekside Cantina menu from Chef Thomas Fundaro offers the comforts of traditional street food with artisan tacos, lime shrimp ceviche and crisp fries covered in slow-roasted pork chile verde. Best pairings include a variety of specialty cocktails and the entire house lineup of SLO Brew craft beer, Porch Pounder canned wine, Tio Rodrigo micheladas and SLO Stills spirits.
Inside, The Carrisa showcases the same vintage coastal charm honored for Excellence in Integrated Interior & Exterior Design in the 2020 Downtown SLO Beautification Awards. SLO Brew Gatherings is now accepting 2021 reservations for private catered events on The Creekside Patio, Grand Hall & upstairs Mezzanine Lounge.
