The national office of SCORE “Mentors to America’s Small Business” honored San Luis Obispo SCORE Chapter with the Diamond star level for outstanding performance in 2020. The award recognizes San Luis Obispo SCORE for achieving service excellence in support of local small businesses, throughout San Luis Obispo County and the Santa Maria Valley. This is the third year in a row the chapter has received this prestigious award.
San Luis Obispo SCORE has been a part of the local small business community for 36 years. In 2020, the chapter’s volunteers provided free face-to-face mentoring and workshops for 2,015 aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners.
“We are honored to receive recognition from the national office of SCORE,” says Horace Morana, San Luis Obispo SCORE Chapter Chair. “Our 35 volunteers have a passion for business. They are committed to the success of San Luis Obispo County and the Santa Maria Valley small businesses. Our chapter has also been instrumental in helping businesses apply for EIDL and PPP loans.”
