ABOUT SLOCAL ROOTS FARMS & SLOCAL ROOTS DISPENSARY

SLOCal Roots is the city’s newest cannabis dispensary, located at 3535 South Higuera Street in the heart of the commercial center. Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Austen Connella, and CoFounder and Chief Operating Officer Kristin Kordich incorporated SLOCal Roots Farms in San Luis Obispo County in 2016. SLOCal Roots Farms is an integrated California cannabis operator, with cultivation, processing, packaging, and retail sales. SLOCal Roots is the company’s first retail location with a second location, Root One in Guadalupe, California expected to open Fall 2022.

SLOCal Roots Farms is a locally owned and operated cannabis company on the Central Coast focused on bringing people and communities together through the positive health, social and economic benefits of responsible cannabis. Stewards of the land and using only sustainable practices throughout the supply chain, the company’s values embody environmental, social and economic justice. SLOCal Roots Farms is building the premier Central Coast cannabis brand.

SLOCal Roots’ dedication to the SLO community starts with supporting local non-profit organizations. In the first year of operation SLOCal Roots projects $20,000 in local charitable giving and 400 hours of community service to organizations including Food Bank Coalition of SLO County, Meals That Connect, SLO Senior Center, Hospice of SLO County and others. SLOCal Roots projects $250,000.00 in City cannabis tax proceeds in 2022, growing to $500,000.00 in 2023. All of the infrastructure necessary to build a fully integrated cannabis brand will be located on the Central Coast, keeping jobs and economic impact in the community.

SLOCal Roots new location is the culmination of 20 years of effort; Mr. Connella was an applicant for the first medical cannabis dispensary license in San Luis Obispo County in 2006, and now has over 20 years of commercial cannabis cultivation experience on the Central Coast. Mr. Connella is a board member of the Central Coast Cannabis Council, and SLO Grow. SLOCal Roots is a member of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce.
