San Luis Obispo restaurateur, Leonard Cohen and his wife and business partner, Interior Designer Wendy Cohen announce the next big thing for foodies and lovers of great tequila and mezcal; the brand new La Esquina Distillery at the SLO Creamery.
“Our vision was to create an atmosphere that provides not only a place to eat and drink but an immersive culinary experience. The casual, lounge vibe is so relaxed with couches and big comfy chairs, The Distillery is all about relaxing and having fun where guests can leave and feel that they were transported to Oaxaca, Jalisco, and San Miguel Allende with a touch of big city LA in the mix” says Wendy Cohen.
Guests will enjoy expertly paired tequila, mezcal and margarita flights partnered with beautifully made, Mexican-inspired gourmet small bites that tantalize every taste. You’ll also soon be able to try the Distillery’s very own Tequila made in house. Don’t come expecting run of the mill bar food as visitors can experience bone marrow mezcal luging on Thursday nights, celebrity tequila pairings and thoughtfully crafted menu items to attract discerning travelers and locals alike.
“We are so excited to welcome and introduce a first-class tequila tasting experience right here in SLO. La Esquina Taqueria has been a local favorite for some time and we are thrilled to spice up the Creamery with our La Esquina Distillery. We really appreciate the incredible 14 years of support from our Ciopinot customers and friends. And while the Distillery replaces it, Ciopinot is not completely gone. By popular demand, we’ll be doing the full Ciopinot menu one day a month,” said Leonard Cohen.
While La Esquina Taqueria will continue to serve full meals, the Distillery will focus on incredible and inventive new delights and favorites priced from $7 to $20. The La Esquina Distillery will be open Thursday through Mondays beginning on Friday July 15, 2022.
They’ll be hosting $10 Margarita Mondays (with free parking), Bone Marrow & Mezcal Luge Thursdays ($20 for Bone Marrow with a shot of Mezcal) and other new and unique experiences.
