Ragtag Wine Co., located in San Luis Obispo, won big at the 2022 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition (FLIWC), including Best of Class for the 2017 Meritage in the crowded Vinifera Red Blend – Meritage & Bordeaux category. In addition, the 2017 Pinot Noir and 2017 Syrah were awarded Gold Medals, while the 2018 Albariño, 2017 Malbec, 2017 Petite Sirah and 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon all earned Silver. Winemaker Jeff Huskey summarizes the winemaking ethos as “constantly striving for perfection in all we do; a concept that is never quite attainable, yet always deserves our foremost efforts.”
The FLIWC is one of the largest charitable wine competitions in the United States. Qualified judges from around the world converge each year on Rochester, NY to evaluate and award thousands of submissions, all accomplished in two days of blind judging.
All proceeds from the competition benefit Camp Good Days, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for children and families whose lives have been impacted by cancer or sickle cell anemia.
