Cal Poly 300Middle and high school students from throughout California will descend upon California Polytechnic State University’s San Luis Obispo campus on Saturday, January 25th for the California Central Coast VEX Robotics Competition.

San Luis Obispo High School’s SLO-Botics and the Cal Poly Society of Women Engineers are proud to host the competition, where 45 teams will come together for a non-stop, action-packed day of competition where they will battle against each other with robots created from the VEX Robotics Design System. Participants will square off in the game Toss Up developed by VEX Robotics, Inc. and the Robotics Education & Competition (REC) Foundation, leaders in educational and competitive robotics.

The event is being held at Cal Poly’s Advanced Tech Lab (Building 007). Qualifying matches begin at approximately 9:30 a.m. and final matches begin at approximately 3:30 p.m.

The California Central Coast VEX Robotics Competition is one in a series tournaments supported by the REC Foundation and various national, regional and local sponsors. San Luis Obispo High School’s SLO-Botics club is sponsored by Softec as well as local families and businesses.
