Blue Rooster Telecom made the donation as part of its Community Partner Program, which was developed as a way for the company and its employees to contribute to the community, while providing telecommunications services and expertise to the county’s many nonprofit and community organizations.

“We are grateful for the generous donation from Blue Rooster Telecom to further grow our mentoring program and admire their dedication to Big Brothers Big Sisters and to our community as a whole,” said Patty Carpenter, development director of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-on-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. The nonprofit organization partners with parents and guardians, volunteers, and others in the community to help each child who participates in the program gain higher aspirations, greater confidence and better relationships, avoid risky behaviors, and achieve educational success. The vision is that all the children will achieve success in life.

“As a local company, we take pride in supporting local organizations through our Community Partners Program,” said Blue Rooster Telecom President Jeff Buckingham. “We are happy to support Big Brothers Big Sisters and help them to continue to make an impact in the lives of children in San Luis Obispo County.”

Big Brothers Big Sister will be celebrating 18 years of helping local children through mentorship at The Big Event on Sunday, June 23 from 2 to 6 p.m. at The Embassy Suites. For more information, visit the Big Brothers Big Sisters website here or the Blue Rooster Telecom website here.
