Coastal Community Builders 150In expression of their strong commitment to local nonprofits working to improve the quality of life, Coastal Community Builders made a generous contribution of $5000 to the San Luis Obispo County Bicycle Coalition’s Connect SLO County initiative. Connect SLO County aims to build a network for everyone, from an eight-year-old child to an eighty-year-old grandmother, to have safe access to biking and walking for everyday transportation and recreation. The Connect SLO County website (connectslocounty.org) works as a resource for local residents looking to learn about how they can advocate for more paths. Donations to Connect SLO County increase the Bicycle Coalition’s capacity to increase pressure to complete paths as soon as possible.

Presenting the donation, Gary Grossman, president of Coastal Community Builders announced “It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I submit this check, on behalf of Coastal Community Builders to support Connect SLO County. We are very impressed with the collaborative nature of this initiative as well as educating our local leaders on the need to complete the paths that our cities have been planning for years.”

According to Dan Rivoire, Executive Director of the SLO County Bicycle Coalition, “this incredibly generous donation will allow the Bicycle Coalition to continue our focus on proving to decision makers that local residents desperately want more safe places to bike, walk, stroll, and play.” The donation will be matched by contributions made by SRAM, the San Luis Obispo Bike Club and the Stapleton Family, resulting in $10,000 going to the Connect SLO County campaign.

The Bicycle Coalition’s annual Connect SLO County fundraising effort is currently underway. Make a donation today by mailing a check to the Bicycle Coalition or online at connectslocounty.org
