Cuesta 170The fall 2014 semester at Cuesta College is underway. Classes began on Monday, August 18; currently, nearly 8,900 students have registered for courses offered on the San Luis Obispo Campus, North County Campus in Paso Robles, South County Center in Arroyo Grande and online. The fall semester runs until December 19; courses are still available in many areas.

New for the fall 2014 semester:

–        13 new full-time faculty in the areas of mathematics, kinesiology, construction, psychology, art history, business, Spanish, biology, graphic design, library, counseling and student health services.

–        Five new specialized certificate programs in the areas of android development, iOS development, internet and digital marketing, EMT training, and searching and researching strategies.

–        The first class of Cuesta Promise students. So far, just under 700 recent San Luis Obispo County high school graduates have received the Promise, a scholarship that provides a fee-free first semester worth nearly $700.

–        Students taking courses on the North County Campus can enjoy new extended bus service hours. A new RTA service is now offering additional buses that leave the campus at 7:00 p.m., 8:00 p.m., 9:00 p.m. and 10:05 p.m. The buses departing at 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. will serve Paso Robles residents only, while the later two departures will serve Paso Robles, Templeton and Atascadero.
