The Cypress Ridge women’s golf club is gearing up to host its 12th annual “Rally for Hope” golf tournament at the Cypress Ridge Golf Course. The event raises resources for the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation Breast Cancer Fund.
The tournament will be held at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 from 8a.m.-3p.m. The event will feature 18 holes of golf, lunch and a raffle. The cost to participate in the tournament is $125.00 per person and all proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Fund.
The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Breast Cancer Fund provides year round, no-cost breast cancer screenings and diagnostic services such as mammogram, ultrasound and biopsies to local women. The fund also helps with other medical necessities for women with breast cancer in financial need. In collaboration with Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo (CAPSLO) and local radiology groups, the Breast Cancer Fund is able to provide a mammogram or breast ultrasound with every $100 donated.

The Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation was established in 2006 and in the past five years has completed a 1.6 million dollar capital campaign to create the Coastal Cancer Care and Diagnostic Center, construction of the hospital’s Healing Garden and most recently completed the hospital room modernization campaign. The foundation is currently supporting the purchase of new Emergency Department technologies at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.
The Breast Cancer Fund was established in 2011 by the Cypress Ridge women’s golf tournament “Rally for Hope.” In recognition of October as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (AGCH), in collaboration with Community Action Partners of San Luis Obispo (CAPSLO) and the Cypress Ridge Women’s Golf Tournament “Rally for Hope” will offer a free mammogram clinic on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, to local women over forty who qualify.
Breast cancer can strike at any age and all women should be aware of their personal risk factors. Arroyo Grande Community Hospital is grateful to have the opportunity to increase awareness and educate women about the importance of regular mammogram screenings, clinical breast exams and early detection of breast cancer.
