Moonshiner Collective is a San Luis Obispo, CA-based musical project led by singer-songwriter Dan Curcio (multi-instrumentalist), Gary Wooten (8-string guitar), and Ryan House (drums), drawing from rock, blues, funk, and Americana influences. Their aim is for each song, performance, and album to have a unique sound. While their instrumentation and genre-bending evolve, their songs focus on family, love, optimism, nature, and community, connected by Curcio’s warm voice and introspective lyrics. Their unifying positivity blends good-time music with soulful depth, appealing across generations.
The band’s name and ethos come from Curcio’s yurt-based jam sessions overlooking the Pacific in Cayucos, a space for sharing music, stories, and hospitality with traveling musicians. This communal spirit inspired Curcio to create an evolving musical project rooted in his soulful, upbeat indie rock, drawing from diverse talents and inspirations.
