Good Monday afternoon,
It’s a twofer kind of PR day here at Cuesta!
Two big events are happening at Cuesta this Friday: Cuesta’s 53rd Annual Commencement Ceremony and the Registered Nursing program’s Annual Pinning Ceremony. Attached are press releases on both, and below are some highlights.
53rd Annual Commencement Ceremony: Cuesta’s graduating class of 2018 will graduate 946 students and award 1,249 degrees at the 53rd annual commencement ceremony on Friday, May 18th. More than 150 of those graduates received their first year at Cuesta College fee-free via the Cuesta College Promise Scholarship. The press release contains more details on student characteristics (i.e. age range, # of veterans, GPAs earned, etc.) and the types of degrees awarded. The ceremony will take place in the SLO Campus gym at 3pm.
Annual RN Pinning Ceremony: On May 18th, Cuesta’s Registered Nursing (RN) program will celebrate its 50th graduating class. The graduates of the RN program’s first class earned their nursing pins in 1969, and, since then, Cuesta College has educated and graduated more than 1,800 nurses. This year’s graduating cohort includes 46 graduates. In addition, the RN program is also celebrating it’s first cohort of 18 RN students earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. The students participated in the Cuesta College and CSU-Monterey Bay’s collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree program in which the students earned a Bachelor’s Degree locally while also working locally. The press release contains details on both of these milestones, and additionally details the various successes of the RN program and its students (i.e. statewide recognitions, 100% licensure test passage rates, etc.) The Pinning Ceremony takes place in the SLO Campus gym at 11am.
Please help us get the word out about these two big events (and the big news associated with them!) all happening on Friday.
Thank you,
